    2025 Seabeck
    SEASIDE RETREAT WORKSHOPS

At our Retreat this year, we have a wonderful space to hold our workshops. Right next door to our Historic Inn is the Juniper Workroom which has lots of windows to provide natural light and lots of space as well. We also have some amenities that we have not had before, such as Audio Visual equipment and a space to serve refreshments.

Our plan is to have two sessions of workshops per full day (Friday and Saturday), and one workshop or activity on Thursday. The list of workshops or activities listed below may be subject to change as we get closer to the event. Some workshops will have a fee for supplies. This will be paid to the instructor should you decide to participate.

Here are the Workshops so far:
    Sara Palmer’s Embroidery Cart:

This workshop will feature a design for a Reticule (or other project of your choice) which you may embroider. Sara is providing patterns for embroidery, including Monograms from her own collection. She is also providing materials: floss, fabric, needles, etc. With her guidance, you can create a memorable keepsake of your retreat.

    Sara Palmer’s Watercolor Class:

This workshop will involve learning the art of Watercolor. Sara is supplying easels, paint, and brushes (or you may bring your own). She will also supply ideas for your picture. This workshop was very popular at our last Retreat, so we are happy that she is repeating it.

    French Handsewing Class:

We are fortunate to have this expert teacher give us another lesson in French Handsewing. You will learn the art of the rolled hem and the whipped gather. Supplies will be provided for a fee. This workshop will be on Friday so that you can get assistance later in the Retreat if needed.

    Ribbon Flowers

Agnes will be teaching how to make flowers out of ribbons. This is a quick project (unless you decide to make lots of them). Some ribbons will be provided free of charge, you may choose to bring your own ribbons to work with as well. These flowers are useful for millinery and clothing decoration.

OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE JUNIPER WORKROOM:
Ruth Haring’s Shop: Feathers and Furbelows

Ruth Haring will be having her shop for accessories and supplies. Items are made by members and a portion of the proceeds go to WRS.

    Grandma’s Attic

Do you have something that you no longer want, but perhaps it is just what someone else is looking for! Bring it to Grandma’s Attic table You then get to pick an item that someone else has brought. There often are some great finds.

    Raffle:

On Saturday evening we will be holding our Raffle. Our talented members have supplied some wonderful raffle items over the years all the proceeds go to WRS educational programs. If you have an item that you wish to donate, please let us know. You can reach us by emailing retreat@waregency.org.
