Sunday August 26, 2018 – 10 am to 2 pm – Seattle
We are focusing on two of the corsets that we, as a group, have the most experience with. There are other patterns available as well, such as Mantua Maker and Past Patterns, and you are free to use them, however the class will focus on these two.
1) Laughing Moon #115 Ladies Regency and Romantic Era Corset is a long, columnar corset with back closing, a center front busk, and cording and/or boning for support. Era 1805-1840. Instructions for a simpler theater version or a shorter length are included in the pattern.
2) Sense and Sensibility A Regency Underthings Pattern is a short stay. It is front closing and is boned. It is from an earlier period, 1795-1805.
Both of these patterns are available on line at their websites.
The goal of this class is to achieve a muslin of your corset so that you can begin to work on your own. We will also demonstrate a handsewn eyelet and share some tips we have learned from our own experience making stays.
Limited spots available so please reserve your spot today. *** WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL ***
